The Myth: The Splendor of Marlborough
The name comes from the bay located to the east of the valley, named by Captain Cook in 1770. Cloudy Bay was one of the first five estates to be established in Marlborough, and its success was so meteoric in the 90s that bottles were subject to strict quotas at wine merchants around the world.

Expansion to Central Otago: THE domaine recently invested in the vineyard Te Wahi in Central Otago, to produce an even more intense and structured Pinot Noir, proving his thirst for new challenges.
Kevin Judd, whom we were talking about for the domaine GreywackeHe was the first manager and winemaker at Cloudy Bay. He shaped the style of the house for 25 years before striking out on his own.
