Today, the domaine is led by Florent Rouve, who succeeded Jean Rijckaert in 2013 while preserving the "winemaker-artisan" spirit that made the house famous.

A Domaine, Two Terroirs

The duality of domaine allows you to explore the nuances of Chardonnay and Savagnin on very different soils:

• The Mâconnais region (Burgundy): Based in Leynes, the domaine cultivates plots of land within the appellations Viré-Clessé, Saint-Véran And Pouilly-FuisséThe wines there are sunny but always carried by a great freshness.

• The Jura: Located in Les Planches-près-Arbois, the domaine product of Arbois and Côtes du Jura of remarkable precision. It includes "ouillé" Chardonnay (floral and pure style) and typical Savagnins, as well as Vin Jaune.

The Philosophy: "The Art of Natural Winemaking"

Rijckaert's reputation rests on a very non-interventionist working method, aimed at letting the lieu-dit (THE "climat") :

• Slow pressing: To extract the best juices without bitterness.

• Native yeasts: No chemical yeast is added; fermentation occurs naturally.

• Long aging processes without stirring of the lees: Contrary to the trend for full-bodied wines, Rijckaert does not stir the lees (bâtonnage). The wines rest for extended periods in barrels to gain structure and complexity, without losing their vibrancy.

• Minimal use of sulfur: To guarantee the aromatic purity and digestibility of the wine.
