Before him, Gabriel, Vincent, and Jean-Yves succeeded one another. Each generation has contributed to the excellence of the wines.
Today, the estate is taking a new turn with Matthieu Delaporte. He is turning towards agriculture.biologicalHe respects the raw materials and the beauty of the terroir as much as possible. His aim is to elevate the estate's wines to the pinnacle of the great Loire Valley Sauvignon Blancs and Pinot Noirs. The challenge is significant, but he's on the right track!
The Sancerre Vineyard
Sauvignon Blanc and Pinot Noir: the king of grape varieties
The vineyards extend over 3 hectares atSancerreMathieu is introducing new techniques to the vineyard. He works the soil without herbicides and reduces vine yields. The terroir expresses itself all the more thanks to these gentle and environmentally friendly methods. Attention to detail is central to his approach. The estate has decided to harvest its grapes by hand, a first in 30 years. This helps preserve soil quality and the integrity of the grape bunches. The style of the wines
Precision, character and elegance
In the cellar, sulfur is used very sparingly. Aging is long, on the lees, without racking, to obtain very pure single-varietal wines. The white wines are aged in 600-liter barrels, which impart roundness, substance, and richness to the estate's wines. These wines have good aging potential.Sancerresof very high quality. The estate's wine range comprises several equally high-quality wines:
- SancerreIt is produced in all three colors within a range accessible to traditional winemaking. The value for money is excellent.
- In both white and red, the estate preserves the best juices from old vines to produce two other premium cuvées. The wines are aged in oak barrels.
The wines are precise, balanced and very complex, expressing the beauty of the very mineral terroir.
