      the story of Fig tree

      Figuière: a family story

The Combard family: between tradition and innovation

The Combard familyis first and foremost a family of winegrowersBurgundiansIn the 1970s, Alain Combard partnered with Michel Laroche to create one of the finest Chablis wineries. In 1992, he succumbed to the charms of the terroir ofProvencein which he sees an untapped and promising potential. He then settles inSaint-André de Figuièrewith 18 hectares of vineyards.

Magali, Delphine, and François have taken over from their father, Alain. They perpetuate the estate's vision, balancing tradition and innovation. They showcase the family's expertise while incorporating new winemaking techniques.

      The Figuière vineyard

      A unique terroir

Fig treecultivates 125 hectares of vineyards across 2 distinct terroirs:

      • In La Londe Les Maures, near the sea, the vineyard lies on schist soil veined with quartz, surrounded by pine forests. The presence of schist contributes to the unique style of the wines: full of purity and minerality.
      • In Pignans, in the heart of the Massif des Maures, the climate is continental and the soils are clay-limestone.

On these two terroirs, 10 typically Provençal grape varieties are cultivated with the utmost care, such as theMourvèdre, Syrah, Grenache and Cinsaultor even thevermentinoThe vineyard benefits from some of the highest levels of sunshine in France.

Fig treewines produced inAOC Côtes de Provence, La Londe and IGP Méditerranée.A large part of the vineyard is surrounded by trees such as cork oak, strawberry tree, and eucalyptus. They bring a great deal of freshness to the wines. The vineyard is cultivated usingorganicsince 1979.

      The style of the wines

      Tradition, know-how and audacity

The estate is constantly seeking improvements in the cellar to highlight the quality of the soils and the vineyard.Fig treeThe team's primary goal is to produce authentic wines that pure and express the beauty of the Massif des Maures. Nature is not constrained in the cellar; the raw materials are respected so that each plot and grape variety can fully express itself. Blending is key to the estate's wines, resulting in wines full of minerality, unadorned and vibrant.

Among the estate's wines are the following ranges:
