A family story
From generation to generation
The familyThibonThe family has owned the estate since 1670. Initially farmers, they cultivated their land for various crops, including vines. Jean-Pierre took over the vineyards when his father went off to war in 1914-1918. He then decided that viticulture would become the main activity of the family estate. The cellar was built in 1970, renovated in 1982, and since then, wine has been central to the estate's production.Mas de LibianThree daughters were born to Jean-Pierre and Jacqueline: Hélène, Catherine, and Cécile. All three dedicated themselves to winemaking, and Hélène took over the family estate in 1995, followed by Cécile in 2006. Since then, the estate has continued to expand. Today, it covers25 hectares of vineyardsand 8 hectares of arable land. This consists of gardens, hay, cereals, and olive trees. The cellar doubled in size in 2011, creating a veritable cellar of aging casks. TheMas de Libianis therefore constantly evolving and is marked by family transmission.

In 2005, the estate obtained its certification inbiodynamicsbyDEMETERThis philosophy guides all the winemakers' viticultural choices. Indeed, since 2006, Nestor, a draft horse, has been plowing 8 hectares of vines. He was joined in 2016 by Bambi. Together, they work the land gently and respectfully, minimizing damage to the soil.
In addition, around the vineyards, the family has developed the creation of food crops. That is to say, plots of diverse crops (such as hay, olive trees, cereals, etc.) which contribute to the creation of abiodiversitymore complete. Bees and ladybugs flock in large numbers and help maintain an environment favorable to viticulture.
The wines of the estate
A lovely estate in the Côtes-du-Rhône
The philosophy applied in the vineyard is also reflected in the cellar. Only negligible doses of sulfur are added to the wine.
