    This wine pairs perfectly with red meat. For example, enhance your ribeye steak with this vintage. Ideally, serve it at around 15-16°C.

    Owner and history

    The vineyard covers 112 hectares within the Pauillac appellation. Carruades de Lafite, the second wine, is cultivated on the Carruades plateau, on deep gravelly soil with a limestone subsoil. The vineyard is dominated by Cabernet Sauvignon, which makes up 75% of the blend, followed by Merlot at 25%, and then, in smaller quantities, Cabernet Franc (3%) and Petit Verdot (1%).

    Vinification and aging

    - Hand-harvested grapes
    - Vinification by plot in traditional oak vats and in temperature-controlled stainless steel vats
    - Aged for 16 to 20 months (80% new oak barrels), the rest in vats
    - Bottling with fining using fresh egg whites
