Tasting notes

"Les Epinettes" 2019 reveals a brilliant, pale gold robe. The nose, intense and refined, blends white flowers, candied citrus, and chalky minerality. On the palate, the attack is precise and energetic, with fine bubbles and beautiful tension. The wine lingers on a persistent, delicately saline finish that underscores the purity of the Pinot Noir from Verzy. A distinguished and vibrant Champagne, perfect for terroir enthusiasts.

Food & wine pairings

This champagne pairs wonderfully with sea bass sashimi, sea bream ceviche or bloomy rind cheese.

Producer

Adrien Renoir's vineyard lies exclusively in Verzy, a Grand Cru in the Montagne de Reims, renowned for the finesse of its Pinot Noir. The cool climate and chalky subsoil impart tension, minerality, and elegance to the wine. The "Les Epinettes" plot, cultivated biodynamically, rests on deep soils rich in active chalk, providing the grapes with slow and balanced nutrition, ideal for revealing the expression of the vintage.

Owner and history

At the helm of the family estate since 2017, Adrien Renoir embodies a new generation of bold and committed Champagne winemakers. Trained by the greatest and deeply attached to his terroir, he is converting the vineyard to biodynamic farming, in a quest for authenticity and precision. His meticulous work, from vineyard to cellar, allows him to elevate each plot and offer distinctive, sincere, and vibrant cuvées, such as this remarkable 2019 "Les Epinettes."

Vinification and aging

At the estate, winemaking is done naturally, with indigenous yeasts and gentle pressing. Adrien Renoir ages his wines in oak barrels, without filtration, in order to preserve the purity of the juice.
The 2019 "Les Epinettes" vintage is vinified in old oak barrels and aged on its fine lees for several months, with no dosage added at bottling. The result: a remarkably pure Extra Brut Champagne, fully revealing the unique character of the vineyard site.
