Owner and history

Château Batailley spans 60 hectares, situated on gravelly soils typical of the Médoc, allowing for excellent drainage and promoting optimal grape ripeness. These deep gravels impart finesse and aromatic complexity to Château Batailley wines. The proximity of the Gironde estuary also plays a key role, providing beneficial temperature regulation for the vines. Controlled yields and sustainable viticultural practices guarantee quality production that respects the environment and the unique character of the terroir.

Vinification and aging

The winemaking process for Château Batailley 2014 is based on a traditional and rigorous approach. After hand-harvesting and meticulous selection of the grapes, fermentation takes place in temperature-controlled stainless steel tanks. The wine is then aged for 18 months in French oak barrels, 60% of which are new. This aging in oak imparts elegance, a silky tannic structure, and delicate toasty and spicy notes to the wine.
