The Château Haut-Bages Libéral vineyard stretches across gravelly and clay soils, characteristic of the Pauillac appellation. The temperate oceanic climate promotes optimal grape ripening, allowing the Cabernet Sauvignon to fully express itself. The carefully cultivated vines benefit from ideal sun exposure and natural ventilation, contributing to the health and quality of the grapes. Each year, the harvest is carried out by hand, guaranteeing a rigorous selection of the finest grapes.

    Owner and history

Today, Château Haut-Bages Libéral is run by the Carpentier family, who uphold tradition while introducing modern practices to enhance the quality of their wines. Their passion for the terroir and their commitment to sustainable viticulture are at the heart of their philosophy. Each family member actively participates in the management of the estate, ensuring that every vintage reflects the soul of Pauillac. Thanks to their vision, the château continues to gain recognition on the international stage.

    Vinification and aging

The winemaking process at Château Haut-Bages Libéral adheres to Bordeaux traditions. After a manual harvest, the grapes are destemmed and crushed before being placed in vats for temperature-controlled fermentation. The wine is then aged in oak barrels, some of which are new, adding complexity and structure. This method allows the tannins to soften and the oak aromas to integrate, while preserving the purity of the fruit. The wine is then bottled after light fining and filtration.
