The Château La Lagune vineyard covers approximately sixty hectares of gravelly Garonne soils, characteristic of the Haut-Médoc. These well-drained soils promote even and high-quality ripening of the traditional Bordeaux red grape varieties. Vineyard management is based on a sustainable approach, attentive to biodiversity and the natural balance of the soils. Each plot receives meticulous care, allowing for a rigorous selection of the best grapes at each harvest.

Owner and history

Since 2004, Château La Lagune has been managed by Caroline Frey, a passionate oenologist who also oversees estates in the Rhône Valley. Her commitment to sustainable, environmentally conscious viticulture has allowed the estate to gain in precision and recognition. She infuses a modern vision into Bordeaux classicism, placing the expression of terroir and elegance at the heart of each vintage. Her rigor and intuition have enabled La Lagune to shine among the leading estates of the Médoc.

Vinification and aging

Winemaking at Château La Lagune respects the identity of each plot, with vinification carried out plot by plot in temperature-controlled stainless steel tanks. After fermentation, the wines are aged for 18 months in French oak barrels, a significant proportion of which are new.
The 2014 vintage thus benefits from perfectly controlled aging which enriches the complexity of the wine without ever masking the fruit, while preserving freshness and balance.
