The Château Léoville Las Cases 2024 has a deep red color with purplish highlights. The nose reveals great aromatic complexity, blending black fruit with a touch of cedar. On the palate, the structure is dense, supported by elegant and silky tannins. Freshness balances the richness, and the finish lingers long on mineral and woody notes of rare finesse.

Clos Léoville Las Cases benefits from a terroir of unique geological diversity, shaped over millennia by successive deposits from the nearby Gironde estuary. Composed primarily of Quaternary gravel, with clay and gravelly-sandy subsoils, this terroir allows for a limited and regular water supply, ideal for cultivating great grape varieties such as Cabernet Sauvignon and Cabernet Franc. The proximity of the river also creates a protective microclimate, promoting optimal grape ripeness and contributing to the incomparable expression of this Grand Vin.

Owner and history

Château Léoville Las Cases has been owned by the Delon family for several generations. Managed by Jean-Hubert Delon, this estate embodies a demanding and timeless vision of Bordeaux wine. True to a tradition of rigor and excellence, the Delon family personally oversees every stage of production, in a constant quest for perfection. Deeply committed to the concept of terroir, they continually invest in the vineyards and facilities, blending tradition and innovation. Their total dedication makes Léoville Las Cases a model of consistent quality and one of the greatest wines of the Médoc.

Vinification and aging

At Château Léoville Las Cases, winemaking is carried out with meticulous precision to fully express the terroir's potential. After careful sorting of the grapes, fermentation takes place in temperature-controlled tanks, ensuring precise extraction of aromas and tannins. Aging, primarily in French oak barrels, a large proportion of which are new, lasts approximately 18 months. This painstaking process gives the wines a harmonious structure, great aromatic complexity, and exceptional aging potential.
