Owner and history

Château Smith Haut Lafitte is a must-see estate in Pessac-Léognan. The Cathiard family has expanded the vineyard to 80 hectares today. Particular care is taken with organic and biodynamic farming practices, respecting the terroir and biodiversity.

Vinification and aging

- Hand-harvested grapes, in small crates
- Cold static settling followed by fermentation in French oak barrels (50% new)
- Aged for 12 months on lees with stirring in barrels
The barrels are made on site, which allows for the creation of custom-made containers and very precise aging.
