The Domaine de Chevalier vineyard covers 40 hectares of clay-limestone soils, which promote excellent drainage and harmonious grape ripening. The vines, averaging 30 years old, benefit from optimal sunshine thanks to a temperate oceanic climate. This unique terroir, combined with environmentally friendly viticultural practices, yields grapes of exceptional quality, resulting in refined and balanced wines.

Owner and history

Currently, Domaine de Chevalier is managed by the Bernard family, who took over the estate in the 1980s. Under their leadership, the estate has experienced a renaissance, with a particular focus on wine quality and environmental responsibility. The owners are committed to preserving the estate's historical heritage while integrating modern viticultural practices. Their passion for wine and respect for the terroir are reflected in every vintage, making Domaine de Chevalier a symbol of excellence in the Bordeaux region.

Vinification and aging

Winemaking at Domaine de Chevalier is carried out with the utmost care. After the grapes are hand-harvested, they are gently pressed. Alcoholic fermentation takes place in temperature-controlled stainless steel tanks to preserve the freshness of the aromas. The wine is then aged on its fine lees in oak barrels, some of which are new, for 12 months. This aging process adds further complexity while respecting the wine's unique character. The blends are carefully crafted to express the quintessence of the terroir in each bottle.
