    This 2021 Saint-Joseph displays a brilliant ruby ​​color. On the nose, aromas of ripe red fruit, violet, and spice intertwine elegantly. On the palate, the Syrah reveals a harmonious structure, with silky tannins and lovely freshness. The finish is persistent, leaving a delicate imprint of cherry and pepper, offering a beautiful length.

    The Jean-Michel Gerin estate vineyard is cultivated on granite soils, typical of the Saint-Joseph appellation. These soils, poor in nutrients but rich in minerals, allow the Syrah grapes to fully develop, producing grapes concentrated in aromas. The region's climate, with hot summers and cool winters, promotes optimal ripening of the grapes, thus guaranteeing exceptional quality in the wines. The vines, some several decades old, are meticulously tended, contributing to the unique character of each vintage.

His son, also involved in managing the estate, carries on this family tradition, incorporating innovative methods while respecting time-honored expertise. Together, they strive to produce wines that tell the story of their terroir.

    Vinification and aging

    Winemaking at Domaine Jean-Michel Gerin is carried out with great respect for tradition. The Syrah grapes are harvested by hand and carefully sorted. Fermentation takes place in stainless steel tanks, preserving the freshness and fruity expression of the grape variety. Aging, lasting several months, occurs in oak barrels, adding complexity and finesse to the wine's aromas. The process is meticulously monitored to achieve a perfect balance between power and elegance.
