    Vinification and aging

    The winemaking of the Forts of Latour The wine is made with the same care as the Grand Vin. The grapes are harvested by hand and then rigorously sorted. Alcoholic fermentation takes place in temperature-controlled stainless steel tanks, allowing for precise temperature management. The wine is then aged for 12 months in oak barrels, some of which are new, to bring complexity and nuance to the blend. This meticulous process reveals the full richness of the terroir and the potential of each grape variety in the final blend.

    Les Forts de Latour 2016 is not a "second vin"in the classical sense of the term. Coming mainly from historic plots located outside the Enclos, it benefits from the same meticulous care as the Grand Vin.
