The Château Margaux vineyard covers 87 hectares, primarily planted with Cabernet Sauvignon, but Pavillon Blanc is made exclusively from Sauvignon Blanc. The estate's soils, composed of gravel and clay, promote optimal drainage, allowing the vine roots to penetrate deeply and ensuring a unique expression of the terroir. The oceanic climate, with hot summers and mild winters, contributes to the harmonious ripening of the grapes, resulting in fruit of exceptional quality.

    Owner and history

Château Margaux is currently owned by the Mentzelopoulos family, who acquired the estate in 1977. Under their leadership, the estate has experienced a renaissance, with investments in infrastructure and a particular focus on wine quality. Corinne Mentzelopoulos, the current owner, embodies the spirit of innovation and respect for tradition that characterizes Château Margaux. Their philosophy aims to create wines that reflect their terroir while respecting the environment, thus consolidating the estate's global reputation.

    Vinification and aging

The winemaking process for Pavillon Blanc 2020 begins with a manual harvest of the grapes, followed by gentle pressing to extract the juice. Fermentation takes place in stainless steel tanks, preserving the aromatic freshness. A portion of the wine is also aged in oak barrels to add complexity and roundness. This meticulous attention to detail at every stage, from vine to bottle, reveals the expertise of an estate that blends tradition and modernity.
