Tasting notes

Château Carbonnieux 2024 Blanc boasts a pale yellow robe with greenish highlights. The nose, expressive and pure, reveals aromas of citrus, white flowers, and a very noble chalky touch. On the palate, the attack is lively, driven by intense freshness and a taut structure. The persistent finish reveals a beautiful minerality with lemony nuances and an elegant touch of salinity. This age-worthy white wine combines precision, balance, and finesse.

The Château Carbonnieux vineyard, located south of Bordeaux, covers more than 90 hectares in the heart of Pessac-Léognan. Planted in deep gravel and clay-sand soils, the vines benefit from well-drained terroir and a temperate climate, ideal for perfect grape ripening. Cultivated using sustainable farming practices, the Sauvignon Blanc and Sémillon plots are harvested by hand to preserve the purity of the fruit. This meticulous care gives the 2024 vintage a mineral finesse and a true expression of the prestigious Graves terroir.

Owner and history

Château Carbonnieux has belonged to the Perrin family since 1956, a true pillar of the qualitative renewal of Graves wines. Éric and Philibert Perrin, now at the helm, represent the fourth generation and perpetuate a vision that respects the terroir while embracing innovation. Their commitment to sustainable viticulture, the continuous improvement of winemaking techniques, and their exacting standards of quality have elevated the estate to one of the leading names in Pessac-Léognan. Thanks to their passion and rigor, the château's white wines, such as this 2024 vintage, combine tradition, modernity, and remarkable purity of expression.

Vinification and aging

At Château Carbonnieux, winemaking blends tradition with technical precision. The grapes are gently pressed, then vinified in stainless steel tanks to preserve their freshness, before partial aging in barrels with lees stirring. The 2024 vintage thus reveals a beautiful aromatic purity, a silky texture, and a balanced structure. This cuvée embodies all the mineral elegance of the Pessac-Léognan terroir.
