    Owner and history

    Château Fonplégade spans a magnificent 18.5-hectare vineyard, located in the heart of the Saint-Émilion appellation. The plots benefit from great diversity, offering ideal conditions for viticulture. The grape varieties are 91% Merlot, accompanied by 7% Cabernet Franc and 2% Cabernet Sauvignon. Since 2013, the owners have opted for organic viticulture, adopting environmentally friendly practices. Subsequently, they took a further step by converting to biodynamic farming.

    Vinification and aging

    - Vineyard managed according to biodynamic principles
    - Hand-harvested grapes
    - French oak vats and cement vats
    - Aged for 16 to 18 months, including 50% in new barrels, 30% in one-year-old barrels, 10% in oval vats and 10% in amphorae
