The vines of Château Grand-Puy-Lacoste flourish in gravelly soils, typical of the Pauillac appellation. This terroir, ideal for growing Bordeaux grape varieties, allows for excellent drainage and promotes optimal ripening of the grapes. The temperate oceanic climate, with maritime influences, contributes to a lovely freshness and good acidity, essential elements for crafting elegant and complex wines. The vines, some several decades old, are meticulously tended, guaranteeing consistent quality and the authentic expression of the terroir.

    Owner and history

Today, Château Grand-Puy-Lacoste is managed by the Borie family, heirs to a long winemaking tradition. Their passion for wine and their deep connection to the land are at the heart of their approach. They have successfully modernized the estate while respecting its history. The owners are committed to producing high-quality wines that reveal the soul of their terroir. Their dedication to sustainable viticulture demonstrates a desire to preserve nature while offering exceptional wines to wine lovers.

    Vinification and aging

The winemaking of Lacoste Borie 2018 follows Bordeaux tradition. After a manual harvest, the grapes are rigorously sorted. Fermentation takes place in temperature-controlled stainless steel tanks, allowing for precise temperature management. Aging lasts approximately 12 months in oak barrels, some of which are new, to impart a subtle oak influence without masking the fruit. This carefully orchestrated process reveals the aromatic richness of the grape varieties while harmoniously integrating the tannins. Bottling occurs unfiltered to preserve the wine's authenticity.
