The Château Gazin vineyard stretches across clay-gravel soils typical of the Pomerol appellation. These mineral-rich soils promote optimal drainage, allowing the vine roots to penetrate deeply and express the full complexity of the terroir. The oceanic climate, characterized by mild winters and temperate summers, contributes to a slow and even ripening of the grapes, thus guaranteeing exceptional quality for each vintage.

Owner and history

Château Gazin is currently managed by the family of the Abbot of Villeneuve, who have successfully preserved the legacy of this iconic estate. Their commitment to quality and authenticity is evident in every bottle they produce. They prioritize environmentally friendly farming methods, incorporating sustainable practices to maintain the vineyard's biodiversity. Under their guidance, Gazin continues to produce exceptional wines, celebrated both at the table and in the most prestigious international competitions.

Vinification and aging

The winemaking process for L'Hospitalet de Gazin 2016 is carried out with care and precision. The hand-harvested grapes are destemmed and crushed before being placed in vats for traditional fermentation. Extended maceration allows for the extraction of tannins and aromas, ensuring the wine's depth. Aging takes place in oak barrels, some of which are new, to impart a subtle touch of wood and vanilla, while preserving the pure expression of the fruit.
