The making of a great wine
Patience and tradition
THEChâteau Gazinplaces paramount importance on respecting the environment. The land is worked with respect for the terroir and ecosystems. Furthermore, the cultivation of the vines is traditional. For this reason,Nicolas and Christophe de BailliencourtThe vineyards require the use of organic fertilizers. Pest control is carried out using sustainable methods. The harvest is done by hand, plot by plot. Thanks to an initial sorting in the vineyard, the grapes for Château Gazin are harvested at perfect ripeness. After the harvesters' initial sorting, two further sortings are performed in the winery: before and after the stems are separated. This comprehensive process optimizes the quality of the fruit. The grapes are then vinified in temperature-controlled cement vats. Variety by variety, they undergo two separate fermentations. The wine then acquires its full complexity during its 18 months of aging in oak barrels.
