The history of the Boris Champy Estate
A pioneering biodynamic estate
It all began in 1984 whenDidier Montchovetleased a 0.5-hectare plot in Nantoux. From the outset, protecting and respecting the climate was essential. The vineyard would therefore very quickly adopt the principles of...organic farming (Ecocert)and of thebiodynamic (Demeter)Since environmentally friendly viticulture practices are not yet as widespread as they are today, theMontchovet EstateHe then became one of the pioneers in practicing it.
Very quickly,Didier Montchovetbuys small plots but maintains its main base in Nantoux. Today, the vineyard extends over12 hectares of vineyards.
Following the acquisition ofMontchovet Estateby Boris Champy, the estate changes its name and becomes DomaineBoris Champyin 2020. We also find the name Petit Aigle, to designate the small grape buying activity formerly called “Vins Didier Montchovet”.
Boris ChampyThe new owner is originally from the Champagne region. His professional background and numerous encounters have given him considerable expertise and a strong commitment to the business.

Winemaking at Domaine Boris Champy
Vines in the service of biodynamics
AtBoris Champy EstateThe grape harvest is done manually. Regarding the vinification of white wines, two types of press are used: the pneumatic press and the historical vertical press.
For the vinification of red wines,Boris ChampyA careful sorting process is undertaken, with a percentage of whole bunches adapted to each cuvée. To respect the pomace, vertical pressing is used, followed by aging in oak barrels.
Furthermore, theBoris Champy EstateIt favors a high percentage of whole bunches depending on the terroir and vintage. Cultivated according to biodynamic principles, the vines are not subjected to any chemical products.
