Tasting notes

This 2024 Margaux displays an intense garnet color with purplish highlights. The nose, beautifully deep, reveals aromas of blackcurrant, graphite, violet, and cedar. On the palate, the attack is ample, the tannins are finely chiseled, and the structure is perfectly balanced. A refreshing character leads to a long and elegant finish, marked by notes of black fruit, sweet spices, and blond tobacco, illustrating the estate's expertise.

Food & wine pairings

Perfect with a rack of roast lamb, a Bordelaise ribeye steak or a Tournedos Rossini.

The Château Rauzan-Ségla vineyard covers 70 hectares in the heart of Margaux, on deep gravelly soils rich in quartz and pebbles, ensuring excellent drainage. This geological type allows for optimal vine root development and promotes the slow ripening of the Cabernet Sauvignon. Sustainable farming practices are employed, with a constant focus on respecting living organisms and biodiversity. The temperate oceanic microclimate contributes to the consistency of the vintages and the finesse of the tannins. These exceptional natural conditions give the wine its precision, depth, and aging potential.

Owner and history

Since 1994, Château Rauzan-Ségla has belonged to Chanel, which entrusted its technical direction to Nicolas Audebert, former winemaker at Cheval des Andes. Thanks to substantial investments and a long-term vision, the owners have elevated the estate to one of the absolute benchmarks of the Médoc. Their philosophy combines rigorous viticulture, expression of the terroir, and artisanal excellence. The dedicated and passionate team works to enhance each vintage while respecting the historical style of Rauzan-Ségla: balance, finesse, and depth. This ambitious vision is reflected in the growing international renown of this Grand Cru Classé.

Vinification and aging

Winemaking at Château Rauzan-Ségla relies on a rigorous selection of grapes, hand-sorted before fermentation in temperature-controlled stainless steel tanks. Each plot is vinified separately to express the unique character of its terroir.
The 2024 vintage is aged for 18 months in French oak barrels, approximately 60% of which are new. This meticulous aging process allows for the slow integration of tannins and refines the wine's texture, while respecting the expression of the fruit. The wine thus reveals its full aromatic complexity and natural elegance, worthy of the finest Margaux.
