The Lignière family: winegrowers and doctors
The Baronne Castlehas been owned by the Lignière family since 1957. This vast vineyard ofCorbièresis located in the heart of the village of Moux. The winemakers are also village doctors and dedicate themselves to the vineyard alongside their medical practice. They produce some of the finest wines ofCorbièresand of theLanguedocAndré (general practitioner) and Suzette (pharmacist) handed over the reins to their son Jean (also a doctor), his wife Anne, Paul (dentist) and Geneviève (pharmacist).
This team of enthusiasts is dedicated to serving the local produce ofCorbièresThe quality of the wines continues to improve thanks to the work of the Lignières family and Stefano Chioccioli who oversees production.

The wines of the estate

In terms of grape varieties, local varieties such asMourvèdre, Grenache Noir, Syrah, Roussanne, Vermentino and Bourboulencare enhanced by the family's work. They have a preference for their old Carignan vines. Some vines celebrated their 115th anniversary in 2016. Red wines represent 90% of the estate's production. The range includes blends and varietal wines. The wines are aged in oak barrels.
