Château de Pressac is a Grand Cru Classé located in Saint-Émilion , on the right bank of Bordeaux. Dominating the Dordogne Valley from its limestone promontory, it embodies the elegance of the region's great wines. This historic estate, remarkable for both its heritage and the diversity of its terroirs, produces balanced, precise wines with excellent aging potential. The 2024 vintage of Château de Pressac brilliantly continues this tradition, offering a refined expression of its terroir, blending vibrant fruit, controlled tannic structure, and complex blending, typical of the finest Saint - Émilion wines.

Notes and pairings

Notes and pairings

Tasting notes

The 2024 Château de Pressac displays a deep, brilliant ruby color. The nose is intense, with aromas of ripe black fruit, licorice, sweet spices, and forest floor. On the palate, the attack is supple, the tannic structure finely woven, and the body ample. A beautiful aromatic complexity is underpinned by elegant freshness. The finish is long, persistent, and flavorful, with a lovely return of fruit and spice.

Food & wine pairings

This wine pairs perfectly with a rack of roast lamb, a tournedos Rossini or stuffed mushrooms.

The Château de Pressac vineyard stretches across 36 hectares in a single block on the limestone plateau of Saint-Étienne-de-Lisse, east of Saint-Émilion. This complex terroir is composed of a mosaic of soils: limestone with asterias fossils, Fronsac molasse, and deep clay. This diversity lends a unique richness of expression to the estate's wines. The vines are cultivated using sustainable farming practices, respecting biodiversity and the soil. The grape varieties blend tradition and originality, including rare varieties such as Carmenère, giving the wines a singular, structured, and elegant character.

Owner and history

Château de Pressac has been managed since 1997 by Jean-François and Dominique Quenin, who have played a major role in its revival. Thanks to significant investments in the vineyards and the winery, they elevated the estate to the rank of Saint-Émilion Grand Cru Classé in 2012. Their vision combines respect for heritage, technical rigor, and an openness to innovation. Deeply involved in local life and environmental issues, they craft a sincere wine, reflecting their commitment. Under their guidance, Château de Pressac now shines with the consistency and elegance of its wines.

Vinification and aging

Winemaking at Château de Pressac is based on rigorous plot selection, with fermentations in temperature-controlled stainless steel tanks. Each grape variety is vinified separately to preserve the typicity of each terroir.
The 2024 vintage benefits from careful aging for 12 to 18 months in French oak barrels, a third of which are new. This meticulous work aims to refine the tannic structure and enrich the aromatic profile without masking the fruit. The wine thus gains depth, complexity, and aging potential, while retaining a lovely freshness.
