The Deutz vineyards, primarily planted with Chardonnay, flourish in the chalky and clay soils typical of the Champagne region. This exceptional terroir, combined with a temperate climate, promotes optimal grape ripeness, resulting in wines of great finesse. The vineyard is meticulously maintained, respecting the principles of sustainable viticulture to preserve biodiversity and soil health. Each plot is cultivated with care, guaranteeing consistent quality and an authentic expression of the terroir.

    Owner and history

Today, Champagne Deutz is run by the Deutz family, who perpetuate the tradition and passion for excellence. The estate has evolved while remaining true to its roots, cultivating close relationships with its partner winegrowers. A commitment to quality and innovation is at the heart of the house's strategy, which continues to explore new techniques to enhance its champagnes. Passing on this expertise to future generations is a priority for the owners, ensuring the continuity of the Deutz legacy.

    Vinification and aging

The winemaking process for Deutz champagnes relies on time-honored expertise, beginning with the hand-harvesting of grapes at optimal ripeness. After gentle pressing, the must ferments in temperature-controlled stainless steel tanks, allowing for precise temperature management. Malolactic fermentation is often carried out, adding further roundness to the wine. Aging on the lees, which lasts several months, contributes to the aromatic complexity. Finally, cellar aging for at least three years allows the wine to develop its personality and elegance before being carefully disgorged and dosed.
