Producer

Producer

The vines of Domaine Bernard Dugat-Py flourish in the clay-limestone soils typical of the Pommard region. This terroir, rich in minerals, gives the grapes great aromatic depth. The old vines, some over 50 years old, are cultivated with care, resulting in limited but high-quality yields. The Burgundian climate, with its hot summers and cold winters, promotes a slow and balanced ripening of the grapes, thus guaranteeing the complexity and elegance of the wines.

Owner and history

Today, the estate is managed by Bernard Dugat and his son, who carry on the family legacy with passion and dedication. They have successfully combined tradition and innovation, committing to sustainable viticultural practices. Their vision is clear: to produce exceptional wines that authentically reflect their terroir. Their efforts have been rewarded with numerous accolades, placing Domaine Bernard Dugat-Py among the leading estates in Burgundy.

Vinification and aging

Winemaking at Domaine Bernard Dugat-Py is carried out in accordance with Burgundian traditions. The grapes are harvested by hand and carefully sorted before being destemmed. Fermentation, which takes place in open vats, allows for a delicate extraction of tannins and aromas. Aging occurs in oak barrels, some of which are new, for a period of 12 to 18 months depending on the vintage. This meticulous process ensures a harmonious integration of the oak and increased complexity, while preserving the identity of the terroir.
