The vineyards of Domaine Bouchard Père & Fils are situated on south-facing slopes, benefiting from a temperate climate that promotes optimal grape ripening. The soils, composed of clay and limestone, offer excellent drainage while retaining the necessary moisture. This combination of terroir and climate allows for the production of high-quality grapes that express all the richness of Burgundy. The vines are cultivated with care, respecting natural cycles to promote sustainable viticulture.

    Owner and history

Domaine Bouchard Père & Fils is currently managed by Artémis Domaines, which has been perpetuating a tradition of excellence for nearly three centuries. The owners are committed to preserving ancestral know-how while integrating modern winemaking practices. Their passion for Burgundy and respect for the terroir are at the heart of their philosophy. Each member of the family brings their personal touch, contributing to the evolution of the estate while honoring its historical heritage.

    Vinification and aging

The 2018 Monthélie is made with great respect for Burgundian traditions. The carefully selected grapes are destemmed before being placed in vats for temperature-controlled fermentation. This method allows for the extraction of color and aromas while preserving the freshness of the fruit. The wine is aged in oak barrels, some of which are new, to bring complexity and roundness to the wine. After several months of maturation, the wine is bottled unfiltered to retain its full authenticity.
