Owner and history

The Corton Grand Cru vineyard stretches across the iconic slopes of the Côte de Beaune, in the heart of Burgundy. This prestigious terroir rests on marl-limestone soil particularly well-suited to Pinot Noir, producing wines that are both powerful and refined. The Drouhin family practices organic and biodynamic viticulture, banning all chemical inputs to preserve the authenticity of the terroir. The ideal orientation of the plots and a temperate climate allow the grapes to reach optimal ripeness, guaranteeing age-worthy wines of remarkable balance.

Vinification and aging

Winemaking at Joseph Drouhin is based on a meticulous approach aimed at showcasing the terroir of Corton. After hand-harvesting, the grapes are carefully sorted before fermentation in stainless steel tanks, allowing for a gentle extraction of aromas and tannins. Aging in French oak barrels (20% new oak) lasts approximately 18 months, giving the wine its harmonious structure and refined oak notes.
