The Côte de Beaune vineyards, home to some of the greatest Chardonnays, benefit from a temperate climate and clay-limestone soils ideal for viticulture. The vines, often old, have deep roots in a rich terroir that imparts a distinctive character to the grapes. The south-facing slopes maximize sunshine and promote optimal ripening. Each plot is meticulously cultivated, respecting natural cycles to produce wines of exceptional purity.

Owner and history

Currently managed by the Drouhin family, the estate is run by the fifth generation. The owners take particular care in passing on family values and preserving the winemaking heritage. Their commitment to environmentally responsible viticulture is reflected in their constant attention to every stage of production. Thanks to their passion and expertise, the Drouhins continue to elevate their wines to the level of works of art, thus celebrating the legacy of Burgundy.

Vinification and aging

The Joseph Drouhin 2020 is made according to Burgundian traditions. The grapes are hand-harvested and then gently pressed to extract the juice. Fermentation takes place in stainless steel tanks, preserving freshness and fruity expression. Aging on fine lees for several months in oak barrels adds complexity and roundness to the wine. This carefully controlled aging method contributes to the elegance and depth of the Chardonnay.
