Marcel Deiss's vineyard is rooted in the clay-limestone soils of Altenberg de Bergheim, where the vines benefit from a microclimate ideal for ripening the grapes. The diversity of grape varieties cultivated in interplanting allows the full richness of the terroir to be expressed. The vines, some several decades old, are carefully tended, promoting sustainable and environmentally friendly viticulture. This unique terroir, combined with time-honored expertise, gives rise to wines of great complexity and remarkable depth.

Owner and history

Today, the estate is managed by Jean-Michel Deiss, who carries on the family legacy while bringing a modern vision to winemaking. Passionate about the land and wine, he is committed to respecting the values of his father and grandfather, preserving biodiversity and encouraging a sustainable approach. Under his leadership, the estate has gained renown, with wines that have become benchmarks in Alsace and beyond, celebrated for their quality and authenticity.

Vinification and aging

Winemaking at Domaine Marcel Deiss is a meticulous process, blending tradition and modernity. The grapes, carefully hand-harvested, are gently pressed to extract the best from each varietal. Fermentation takes place in stainless steel tanks and oak barrels, allowing the aromas to develop harmoniously. Aging on fine lees for several months gives the wine a velvety texture and aromatic richness. Finally, bottling is carried out without filtration to preserve the wine's authenticity and purity.
