The Domaine Valentin Zusslin vineyard stretches across well-exposed slopes, benefiting from a microclimate ideal for Riesling cultivation. The soils, composed primarily of clay and limestone, promote excellent drainage and optimal grape ripening. This geological diversity imparts a distinctive minerality to the wines, reflecting the terroir. The vines, some several decades old, are cultivated with meticulous care, producing high-quality grapes that guarantee an authentic expression of the Pfingstberg Grand Cru.

    Owner and history

Today, the estate is run by the Zusslin family, who perpetuate ancestral know-how while integrating modern practices. Passionate about their craft, the owners are committed to producing wines that reflect their terroir and history. Their respectful approach to nature and their constant desire for innovation make Domaine Valentin Zusslin a key player in the Alsace wine region. Each wine they produce is an invitation to discover the richness and diversity of Alsatian terroirs.

    Vinification and aging

Winemaking at Domaine Valentin Zusslin is carried out with meticulous respect for tradition. The grapes, harvested by hand, are gently pressed to preserve their integrity. The must then ferments in stainless steel tanks at a controlled temperature, allowing the freshness and aromatic expression of the fruit to be retained. Aging on fine lees lasts for several months, adding complexity and roundness to the wine. All of this is done without the use of chemical additives, in accordance with the estate's biodynamic philosophy, allowing the terroir to express itself fully.
