The vineyard of domaine Vietti is situated on clay and limestone soils, typical of the Barbaresco region. The grapes for this wine come from the MGA "Roncaglie" vineyard, located in the municipality of Barbaresco, long recognized as one of the most prestigious in the appellation. The soil, rich in limestone and clay, benefits from a south/southwest exposure at an altitude of approximately 280 meters. The vines, trained using the Guyot system, are on average 34 years old and planted at a density of approximately 4,600 vines per hectare.

Owner and history

The Krause family acquires the domaine winemaking. Once again, human intuition makes the difference. Kyle Krause decides to expand the domaine with prestigious new vintages, both in the Barolo and Barbaresco appellations. The Derthona Timorasso project is a further addition, thanks to the acquisition of new plots and vineyards in the Colli Tortonesi. The Krause family is committed to preserving the identity and values that have characterized the Vietti brand since its origins. Today, Vietti owns some of the most prized and representative vineyards in the Barolo-Barbaresco region. Vietti looks to the future with even more promising and inspiring prospects.

Vinification and aging

After gentle pressing, the juice ferments for approximately three weeks in stainless steel tanks, in contact with the skins and with regular pump-overs. This period includes pre-fermentation maceration and cold post-fermentation maceration, carried out using the traditional submerged cap method. Malolactic fermentation takes place in oak barrels. The wine is then aged in oak barrels for approximately 30 months.
