Nestled in Nuits-Saint-Georges, this exclusive estate is distinguished by its commitment to organic farming and the richness of its vineyard sites. Clos de l'Arlot , the estate's emblematic monopole , is one of the village's rare Premier Cru white wines, produced in very small quantities. This wine perfectly embodies the delicate and precise style of Domaine de l'Arlot.

Producer

Clos de l'Arlot is a gently sloping, east-southeast-facing monopole vineyard, resting on Jurassic limestone soils rich in marl and pebbles. The organically farmed vineyard reveals all the elegance of this rare terroir for a Nuits-Saint-Georges white wine. The Chardonnay vines draw exceptional freshness and vibrant minerality from this terroir, giving the wine its balance and depth.

Owner and history

Domaine de l'Arlot has been owned by AXA Millésimes since 1987, a company that also owns renowned wines in France and abroad. The estate is currently managed by Géraldine Godot, oenologist and technical director, who brings a modern, rigorous, and committed vision. Under her leadership, the estate is strengthening its commitment to biodynamic practices and meticulous plot-by-plot vinification, while simultaneously highlighting the unique character of the Burgundian terroirs it cultivates with passion.

Vinification and aging

At the estate, winemaking is gentle and minimally interventionist, with natural fermentations in barrels. The 2023 Clos de l'Arlot Blanc is aged for 12 months on its fine lees in French oak barrels, a small proportion of which are new (20-25%), to preserve the pure expression of the terroir. This precise choice allows the wine to accurately express the freshness, tension, and mineral complexity of the terroir.
