The Domaine Faiveley vineyard is rooted in an exceptional terroir. The vines of Clos de l'Écu, planted in clay-limestone soils, benefit from optimal sun exposure. This terroir, combined with a temperate climate, promotes perfect grape ripeness. The old vines, often several decades old, contribute to the concentration and complexity of the aromas. The meticulous work of the winemakers, combined with environmentally friendly practices, results in superior quality grapes, essential for the production of this great wine.

Owner and history

Today, the estate is run by the Faiveley family, who carry on their ancestors' legacy with passion and dedication. The current owners, Sylvain and Erwan Faiveley, are committed to upholding family values while innovating to meet contemporary demands. Their dedication to quality and sustainability is reflected in every bottle produced. They have modernized the facilities while preserving the estate's authenticity, thus ensuring the continued success of this Burgundian institution.

Vinification and aging

Winemaking at Domaine Faiveley is a meticulous process, respecting Burgundian traditions. The grapes are harvested by hand and then carefully sorted. Fermentation takes place in wooden vats, encouraging the expression of aromas. Aging in oak barrels, some of which are new, lasts approximately 12 to 15 months. This aging period allows the wine to develop its complexity while subtly integrating the oak notes. Each step is carefully considered to enhance the terroir, guaranteeing wines of great finesse and depth.
