    Owner and history

    THE Domaine Lafarge-Vial is one of the most exciting projects to have emerged in Beaujolais in recent years. It represents the union of two illustrious names from Burgundy: Frédéric Lafarge (of the legendary Domaine Michel Lafarge in Volnay) and his wife Chantal Vial. In 2014, this couple of purist winemakers decided to cross the border from the Côte d'Or to settle in Beaujolais, convinced by the exceptional potential of the granite terroirs for the Gamay grape variety.

    Vinification and aging

    Winemaking at Domaine Lafarge-Vial is crafted with meticulous care, respecting Beaujolais traditions. The grapes are harvested at optimal ripeness and then rigorously sorted. Maceration is conducted gently to extract aromas and tannins with finesse. The aging process, the details of which are not disclosed, allows the wine to gain complexity and harmony. Domaine Lafarge-Vial favours minimally interventionist winemaking methods, to allow the full potential of the terroir to be expressed.
