Its deep purple color hints at a wine of great depth. The nose, rich and complex, reveals aromas of ripe black fruits, blackcurrant, and cherry, enhanced by spicy and woody notes. On the palate, the attack is supple and velvety, with well-integrated tannins, offering a beautiful length and a harmonious finish with hints of chocolate and menthol.

The Château Rauzan-Ségla vineyard covers 55 hectares, planted primarily with Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot. The soils, composed of gravel, clay, and limestone, are ideal for vine cultivation, allowing for excellent drainage and optimal grape ripening. Bordeaux's temperate oceanic climate, with its maritime influences, contributes to the aromatic diversity of the wines, providing ideal conditions for each grape variety. Sustainable vineyard management optimizes the quality of the harvest while preserving the ecological balance.

Owner and history

Since 1994, Château Rauzan-Ségla has been owned by Chanel, which has breathed new life into the estate. At the helm of this ambitious project, Managing Director Thomas Duroux strives to blend tradition and innovation. Under his leadership, the château has invested in advanced winemaking techniques while respecting its viticultural heritage. Chanel's commitment to excellence is reflected in every vintage, making Rauzan-Ségla a key player in the Margaux appellation and the Bordeaux wine landscape.

Vinification and aging

Winemaking at Château Rauzan-Ségla is a meticulous process, blending tradition with modern techniques. The grapes are harvested by hand, ensuring the selection of only the finest. After careful destemming, each grape variety is vinified separately in temperature-controlled stainless steel tanks, allowing for precise temperature management. Malolactic fermentation takes place in barrels, adding complexity and roundness to the wine. Aging lasts 18 months in oak barrels, 50% of which are new, imparting subtle aromas of vanilla and toast while preserving the fruit's expression.
