The Château Rauzan-Ségla vineyard covers 55 hectares, primarily planted with Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot, cultivated on gravelly and clay-limestone soils. This diversity of terroirs promotes optimal grape ripening, guaranteeing wines of great complexity. The oceanic climate, with its maritime influences, offers ideal conditions for viticulture, allowing the vines to flourish. The estate practices sustainable viticulture, respecting the environment and promoting biodiversity.

Owner and history

Currently, Château Rauzan-Ségla belongs to the House of Chanel, which acquired the estate in 1994. Under their management, the estate has undergone a true renaissance, combining traditional expertise with modern techniques. The owners are committed to preserving the historical heritage while investing in sustainable practices. This focus on quality and innovation is reflected in every vintage, making Rauzan-Ségla a leading name in the Bordeaux wine region.

Vinification and aging

Winemaking at Château Rauzan-Ségla is a meticulous process, combining tradition and innovation. The grapes, carefully harvested by hand, are destemmed and fermented in small stainless steel tanks, allowing for precise temperature control. The wine is then aged for 18 months in oak barrels, some of which are new. This method imparts a beautiful aromatic complexity and an elegant tannic structure to the wine, while preserving the pure expression of the Margaux terroir.
