The Château Rauzan-Ségla vineyard covers 50 hectares, primarily planted with Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot. The soil, composed of gravel and clay, promotes optimal drainage and ideal grape ripening. The diversity of the plots allows for the exploration of micro-terroirs, each contributing its unique character to the wine. The region's temperate oceanic climate, with hot summers and mild winters, contributes to the balance of the grapes, resulting in high-quality wines that are both powerful and elegant.

Owner and history

Today, Château Rauzan-Ségla is managed by the team from the House of Chanel, which acquired the estate in 1994. Under their leadership, the estate has experienced a renaissance, blending tradition and innovation. The current owners are committed to preserving the château's heritage while modernizing winemaking practices. Their passion for wine and their respect for the terroir result in high-quality wines, recognized by both experts and enthusiasts. Their vision is to make Rauzan-Ségla an ambassador for great Bordeaux wines throughout the world.

Vinification and aging

Winemaking at Château Rauzan-Ségla is a true art. After a careful hand-harvesting, the grapes are meticulously sorted. Fermentation takes place in temperature-controlled stainless steel tanks, allowing for optimal temperature management. Each grape variety is vinified separately to preserve its unique character. Aging occurs in oak barrels, a percentage of which are new, to impart complexity and structure to the wine. This painstaking process, combined with time-honored expertise, allows the richness of the terroir and each vintage to fully express itself.
