The Château Rauzan-Ségla vineyard is planted on clay-gravel soils, typical of the Margaux region, which promote optimal drainage and good moisture retention. This unique terroir allows the Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, and Petit Verdot vines to flourish, producing grapes of exceptional quality. The vines, averaging 30 years old, are cultivated using environmentally friendly methods, ensuring sustainable and responsible viticulture. Each plot is vinified separately to preserve the specific characteristics of each terroir and grape variety, thus expressing the full richness and diversity of the estate.

Owner and history

Since 1994, Château Rauzan-Ségla has been owned by Chanel, which has breathed new life into this prestigious estate. The current owners, passionate about the art of winemaking, have invested in modern techniques while preserving ancestral know-how. Their commitment to quality and authenticity is reflected in every bottle, making Rauzan-Ségla an essential benchmark in the Margaux appellation. Chanel, renowned for its excellence in the world of luxury, infuses this estate with a unique vision, combining elegance and innovation.

Vinification and aging

Winemaking at Château Rauzan-Ségla is a meticulous process, blending tradition and innovation. The grapes are harvested by hand, ensuring the selection of only the finest bunches. After careful destemming, the grapes are placed in stainless steel tanks, where alcoholic fermentation takes place at a controlled temperature. This essential step allows for the extraction of aromas and color from the berries. The wine is then aged in oak barrels, some of which are new, for approximately 18 months. This aging in wood imparts aromatic complexity and tannic structure to the wine, while respecting the pure expression of the terroir.
