The Côte-Bodin vineyard is nestled on the steep slopes of Côte-Rôtie, on schist and granite soils. This exceptional exposure brings concentration and minerality to the Syrah grapes. Carefully cultivated using sustainable practices, the vines draw deeply from this demanding terroir, giving the wines a unique identity, a balance of power and elegance. The estate cultivates each plot with meticulous attention to extract the very essence of the place.

    Owner and history

Jean-Michel Gerin embodies the new generation of Rhône Valley winemakers, blending tradition and modernity. Coming from a family of winemakers spanning several generations, he took over the family estate in the 1980s and has since continuously strived for excellence. His commitment to precision viticulture, his respect for the terroir, and his passion for fine winemaking have made the estate an undisputed benchmark in Côte-Rôtie, acclaimed by wine lovers worldwide.

    Vinification and aging

Jean-Michel Gerin favors traditional winemaking methods, including hand-harvesting, partial destemming, and extended maceration. The wine is aged in oak barrels for approximately 18 months, some of which are new, to impart structure and complexity. For the 2018 Côte-Bodin, this meticulous attention allows the Syrah grape to express the full potential of the vintage, resulting in a profound, precise wine with perfectly integrated tannins and complex aromas.
