The vineyards of Domaine E. Guigal stretch across steep slopes, enjoying optimal sun exposure. The soil, composed of schist and granite, imparts a unique minerality to the wines. The Mediterranean climate, with hot summers and cool winters, allows for slow and optimal ripening of the grapes. Each plot is cultivated with care, respecting tradition while incorporating sustainable practices to preserve biodiversity.

    Owner and history

Currently managed by Marcel and Philippe Guigal, the estate is the fruit of a family passion passed down through generations. Their commitment to excellence and respect for the terroir are at the heart of their approach. Through an innovative approach that preserves traditional methods, they have raised Domaine E. Guigal to the pinnacle of French wine appellations, making their wines world-renowned.

    Vinification and aging

The winemaking process for La Mouline 2016 is meticulous. The hand-harvested grapes undergo partial destemming before fermentation. Maceration lasts approximately three weeks to extract color and aromas. The wine is then aged in oak barrels, some of which are new, for 36 months, allowing the wine to develop its complexity while subtly integrating the oak notes. This care at each stage guarantees perfect balance and depth of flavor.
