The Château Pontet-Canet vineyard covers 81 hectares, planted primarily with Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, and Cabernet Franc. The soil, composed of gravel, sand, and clay, promotes excellent drainage and optimal grape ripening. The region's oceanic climate, with hot summers and mild winters, contributes to a beautiful aromatic concentration in the berries. The biodynamic approach adopted by the estate respects the ecosystem, promoting biodiversity and soil health, while ensuring controlled yields.

    Owner and history

Currently managed by the Tesseron family, Château Pontet-Canet is in good hands. Alfred Tesseron, passionate about winemaking, has undertaken a radical transformation of the estate by integrating biodynamic practices. His vision is to produce high-quality wines while respecting the environment. The Tesseron family, with its winemaking heritage, brings a touch of modernity and innovation while remaining true to Bordeaux traditions. This dedication to excellence is evident in every bottle.

    Vinification and aging

Winemaking at Château Pontet-Canet is carried out with great care, using traditional methods combined with modern techniques. The grapes are harvested by hand and rigorously sorted. Fermentation takes place in stainless steel tanks, allowing for precise temperature control. Aging, which lasts approximately 16 months, occurs in oak barrels, some of which are new. This process contributes to the wine's complexity and richness, while preserving the integrity of the fruit. The goal is to create wines that reflect the terroir and the estate's expertise.
